Whichever calligraphy style you choose for your poem, we can begin the design with an illuminated letter for you.
Illuminated letters are created with either 22 carat gold leaf or genuine silver leaf, onto a coloured background.
The choice of background colour is entirely yours and we can incorporate colours to match the other illustrations on your commission, or even to match your wallpaper!
The commission above uses two illuminated letters, one for each verse. Our swirly border designs work especially well with illuminated letters.
Using 22 carat gold leaf for illumination gives a wonderful shine. Please ask if you’d like real gold on your commission! There will be a small extra charge for gilding work – just £10 per gilded (or silver) letter.
